What is Tixel?
Thermal Skin Renewal
ResurfacingHeat, precisely delivered.
Tixel is a thermo-mechanical treatment. A heated titanium tip briefly contacts the skin, creating a pattern of controlled micro-injuries that trigger the skin’s repair response. It uses heat rather than laser light or needles.
Collagen Remodelling
Skin qualitySmoother, more supple skin over time.
As the skin heals, collagen remodelling helps improve fine lines, texture and mild laxity. Treatment intensity is tailored to the area, your skin and the recovery time that suits your plan.

Targeted Facial Lines
Fine detailA precise approach to familiar concerns.
Treatment can address crow’s feet, forehead and frown lines, lip lines, chin creasing and the texture of skin around smile lines. We assess whether skin renewal, injectables or a combination will best suit your goals.
Considering an upper blepharoplasty?
Tixel is a non-surgical option for improving crepey eyelid skin, fine lines and mild laxity. It is an appealing choice if you want a refreshed eye area without surgery, or are exploring skin renewal before considering a blepharoplasty. Your consultation helps determine the improvement you can expect and whether Tixel or surgery best suits your goals.
A Brighter, More Even-Looking Complexion
Tixel goes beyond lines and texture. It can also help improve uneven skin tone, with targeted treatment for pigmentation concerns and the delicate under-eye area.
Hyperpigmentation & Uneven Tone
Refresh your complexion.
Tixel can help soften the appearance of uneven pigmentation and sun-related discolouration while improving overall skin quality. Skin renewal supports a brighter, more even-looking finish.
Melasma
A tailored approach to stubborn pigment.
Tixel can form part of a personalized melasma treatment plan, often alongside targeted skincare and daily sun protection. The goal is to soften patchy pigmentation and improve the evenness of your complexion. Melasma can recur, so ongoing care helps maintain improvement.
Under-Eye Dark Circles
Brighter-looking eyes. Smoother-looking skin.
By improving crepey texture and skin quality, Tixel may help the under-eye area look brighter and more refreshed. Dark circles can involve pigment, visible vessels or hollowing; your consultation identifies which parts of the concern Tixel can address and when a combined approach makes sense.
What to Expect
Your Consultation
01A plan built around your skin.
We review your goals, medical history, skin tone and previous treatments. Together, we choose the areas, treatment intensity and a realistic recovery plan.
Your Treatment
02Brief contact. Controlled heat.
A titanium tip delivers precisely controlled heat through brief contact with the skin. Treatment is generally well tolerated, with a warm, prickling sensation. Many treatments can be performed without topical anaesthetic; comfort measures are tailored to you.
Your Recovery
03Give your skin time to renew.
Mild redness and swelling can last a few hours, with a warm, sunburn-like sensation for around 2–3 hours. Typical downtime is 0–2 days, depending on treatment strength. Tiny micro-crusts may flake away around day 3. Stronger treatments can involve longer visible healing.
Your Results
04Progress that builds.
Enjoy smoother-looking skin as healing settles, with improvements in firmness and texture continuing over the following weeks and months. A typical course is 3–4 sessions, spaced approximately one month apart, with your plan tailored to your goals.
Simple aftercare supports your results. We provide guidance on gentle skincare, sun protection and when to restart active products and makeup.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can Tixel help with hyperpigmentation or melasma?
More even-looking skin.
Tixel can help improve uneven pigmentation and may be included in a tailored melasma plan. We combine the right treatment settings with appropriate skincare and sun protection. Because melasma is prone to recurrence and can react to heat or irritation, your plan is selected for your skin.
Can Tixel improve dark circles under the eyes?
Start with the cause.
Tixel may improve the appearance of under-eye darkness when crepey texture and skin quality contribute to a tired-looking eye area. Pigmentation, visible blood vessels and hollowing can also play a role, so we assess the cause before recommending Tixel alone or a combination of treatments.
Can I have Tixel in summer?
Yes. Tixel can be performed year-round, including summer. Consistent sun protection and following your aftercare plan remain essential, and treatment is scheduled around tanning and significant sun exposure.
Does Tixel hurt, and will I need numbing?
Treatment is generally well tolerated. Expect brief warmth and a prickling sensation, followed by a sunburn-like feeling that usually settles within a few hours. Many treatments do not require topical anaesthetic, although comfort measures depend on the area and intensity.
How much downtime should I plan for?
Many treatments involve 0–2 days of downtime. Redness, swelling and warmth settle as your skin recovers, while tiny micro-crusts can remain visible until they flake away around day 3. More intensive settings can require longer healing, so we discuss the right balance of results and recovery with you.
Is Tixel a laser?
No. Tixel transfers heat directly through a titanium tip. It does not use laser light or radiofrequency energy. Its precise, needle-free contact makes it particularly useful for delicate areas such as the eyelids, where laser treatments require specific eye protection and needles can be uncomfortable. Treatment is tailored to the area, with appropriate precautions.
Can Tixel tighten upper eyelid skin?
Yes. Tixel can improve crepey texture, fine lines and mild upper eyelid laxity, helping the eye area look smoother and more refreshed. It is a non-surgical option for skin renewal; a blepharoplasty removes excess skin when a more substantial correction is needed.
How does Tixel compare with microneedling?
Microneedling creates mechanical channels using needles, while Tixel creates controlled thermal injury through brief contact. Both support skin remodelling. We may favour Tixel for crepey eyelid skin and fine perioral lines, and microneedling for selected texture and acne-scar concerns.
How does Tixel compare with Morpheus8?
Morpheus8 delivers radiofrequency through needles at selected depths. Tixel works through surface contact with heat. Their treatment profiles differ, so the choice depends on whether the priority is surface texture, delicate-area renewal or deeper tissue remodelling.
Is Tixel an alternative to CO₂ laser resurfacing?
Tixel offers an alternative approach to fractional resurfacing for fine lines, wrinkles and uneven texture, often with a shorter recovery than intensive CO₂ treatment. It uses contact heat rather than laser light, with adjustable settings ranging from non-ablative treatment to ablative resurfacing. This allows us to tailor treatment intensity to your skin, goals and preferred recovery time. We help you compare the likely improvement and downtime for your goals.
How many treatments will I need?
A typical course is 3–4 treatments, approximately one month apart. Some areas or goals benefit from additional sessions. We tailor your series and maintenance plan at consultation.
Is Tixel suitable for darker skin tones?
Tixel can be used across all skin tones. Because it delivers heat through contact rather than targeting pigment with laser light, it offers a versatile approach to skin renewal. We tailor settings and aftercare to your skin, including any tendency to develop pigmentation.
What are the risks?
Temporary redness, swelling, tenderness and dry crusting can occur. Less common risks include prolonged redness, pigment changes, infection, cold-sore reactivation and scarring. We review your individual risks, including precautions for treatment near the eyes.
Can I combine Tixel with other treatments?
Yes, a staged plan may include neuromodulators, injectables or other skin treatments to address different concerns. Timing is individualized so the skin can recover appropriately between procedures.
Am I a good candidate?
If you want smoother texture, softer lines or firmer-looking skin, Tixel may be a great fit. It can be tailored to different skin tones and areas, from the eyelids to the neck and body. A complimentary initial consultation helps us build the right plan for you.
